Assignment 3 - Report
Title : 3D projection mapping
Introduction
3D projection mapping basicly using a projector to projecting the 3D video to ada flat 2D surface. It creating the illusion on the flat surface to trick people eyes. Any surface can be mapped and projected on, bringing it to life. The flexibility of the projectors means that any size object or surface can be used. According to Wikipedia, “is any method of mapping three-dimensional points to a two-dimensional plane.” Using this technique, they create something and projecting on building using a cool 3D effects, making it look as though buildings are crumbling, changing their structure and more. It really is amazing.
Functions
3D projection mapping has recently become one of the coolest things in multimedia world. It a new way in advertising, now a days many company already using it to advertise thier product, artwork and many more. Not only that, with big companies like Nokia, Samsung and BMW projecting beautiful 3D video displays on buildings around the world and sharing their campaigns on the web. It a coolest things to attract people by using this kind of media.
The technology behind video mapping has been around for many years, it rare to in Malaysia because of the cost, but as technology has improved it is becoming more and more accessible and affordable. Where before, it was only within the reach of large productions, TV shows and concerts, we can now offer simple to use systems for almost any venue including nightclubs, bars, pubs and restaurants beyond the imagination.
Currently this technology already used in the movie to create the scene that present the world of fantasy. Creating the mood that matching the whole movie by using 3D projection mapping. It is really something amazing and creative.
